10 Great Reasons To Enter The Destination Awards This Year!
27th September 2019
There are lots of awards out there and it can be tricky to decide which ones to enter. It takes time to fill out the forms and entry fees can mount up. We thought we would help you to make the decision by giving you the 10 best reasons to enter the Destination Awards this year.
- The OFFICIAL Awards
The Destination Awards are brought to you by the Destination Management Board in conjunction with BCP Council. This means they are the official awards for the local area and really are the ones to strive for. The Destination Awards have been created to celebrate true excellence in the businesses that make Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole and great place to visit, live and work.
- It’s Free!
Some awards charge fees just to enter and if you enter more than one the cost can mount up. The Destination Awards don’t charge a penny so all it takes is the time to fill out the form.
- Easy Online Entry
All of our entries are online so there is no printing or postage, etc. It couldn’t be easier to enter. Just go to www.destinationawards.co.uk/apply
- We Have Teamed Up with The Dorset Tourism Awards
The Dorset Tourism Awards are very well respected and have a very strict judging process. We have teamed up with them to mirror our application format. This means that if you applied for a DTA this year, you can use that application as a template for our application. Just make any updates you need to make and send it in. Simple!
- Personalised Feedback
Every entry that comes in for the awards will be judged by our independent judges (2 in each category). These judges will make comments and suggestions on your application and you will be able to receive a full feedback report whether you are shortlisted or not. This feedback can be invaluable and help you to develop your business. Who knows – you might go on to win next year!!!
- Strict Judging Process
We have developed a structure that means you can be sure that there is no funny business going on! We have carefully selected two judges in each category who will be scoring independently throughout the process. To ensure the outcome is completely fair, we have also enlisted the help of the Head of the Tourism Alliance, Kurt Janson, to be our overall adjudicator. His job is to ensure all scores are fair and appropriate. As the head of a national organisation based in London, Kurt has no local affiliations and can be completely impartial.
- Bringing Together The BCP Tourism Sector
These awards will attract business leaders from across the sector and will be a great way for you to network. Whether it be at a Category Meet-Up, the Finalists Event or at the Awards themselves, there are plenty of chances to mingle with other businesses and create great lasting relationships.
- PR Opportunities
If you do go on to be a finalist or even win, there will be some great scope for PR for your business. The Destination Awards will be promoting all finalists through radio and social media partnerships right up until the awards evening.
- Winners Opportunities
The crowning achievement is to win one of these prestigious awards and if you do, we want to help you celebrate properly. We will be inviting winners on to radio for interviews and publicising your win across social and print media. All of this will prove to be a great way to promote your business for years to come.
- A True Celebration
You work hard throughout the year and so much is achieved by everyone in the sector. The Awards Night is a chance to look back and really take stock of those achievements. With delicious food and great entertainment, we will be putting on a fantastic show for you and will give you a night to remember.
So, what are you waiting for? Entries close on Sunday 6th October so apply now at www.destinationawards.co.uk.
