You are here: Home > Your Visit > Respect, Protect & Enjoy Bournemouth
We hope that you will enjoy your time here, whether you are on holiday or on a daytrip. Bournemouth boasts seven miles of beaches and over 2000 acres of parks and gardens, so there’s plenty of amazing outdoor space to enjoy.
Can you help us to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy our beautiful resort in a safe and responsible way?
Can you help us to look after our local community during your visit?
Can you take care of our precious environment so future visitors can also enjoy it?
Here’s how to do it and it’s really simple.
Thank you.
#RespectProtectEnjoy
BCP Council is launching a new campaign over the summer months to remind residents and visitors to leave only footprints or risk a £150 fine.
Around 2,000 tons of waste is left on the seafront across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole every year, causing harm to the environment as well as endangering local wildlife.
In a bid to reduce the amount of litter that is left on our beautiful coastline as well as in our towns and open spaces, the council joined forces with Waste Investigations Support and Enforcement earlier this year, to carry out littering enforcement and ensure the conurbation remains clean and free from waste for the enjoyment of everyone.
If you can’t afford to chuck away £150, make sure you dispose of your litter in the bins provided or better yet, take it home with you and dispose of it there.
And finally when the day is done, and you return home happy, tired and maybe a little sandy, please #LeaveOnlyFootprints
Thank you!
