August in Bournemouth is a month packed with excitement, adventure, and entertainment, making it the perfect summer destination. From stunning beaches to vibrant events, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
One of the highlights of the summer season is the Bournemouth Air Festival, taking place from August 29th to 31st, 2024. This award-winning festival promises thrilling displays from the world's best military and civilian aircraft, including Swedish fighter jets that are set to perform an aerial display, along with The Red Devils, the Army’s world-class parachute display team. Also making an appearance is the B-17 “Sally B” Flying Fortress, the last remaining airworthy B-17 in Europe, and crowd favourites the AeroSuperBatics WingWalkers and Rich Goodwin in his Jet Pitts Muscle Biplane.
Alongside the aerial displays, the festival features family-friendly activities, live music, and a spectacular nighttime air show with fireworks that light up the sky.
Join us for the Exclusive Summer Beach Party that will transform Bournemouth Beach into a lively celebration with live DJ sets and an array of food and drink stalls. If you’re looking to dance the night away, then this beach party is not to be missed.
For those with a taste for fine spirits, the Gin and Rum Festival is the perfect event. Hosted at the Pavilion Theatre, this festival offers an extensive selection of gins and rums from around the world. Enjoy tasting sessions, masterclasses, and live entertainment in a fun and friendly atmosphere.
August also brings an array of shows and performances at the Pavilion Theatre and the Bournemouth International Centre. From stand-up comedy acts and musicals, including Sister Act, to live concerts and theatrical performances from 42nd Street, there's a show to suit every taste. Every Friday in August, the Bournemouth Fireworks display illuminates the sky with a dazzling show starting at 10 pm. Bring the family and enjoy the spectacle from the beach or the pier.
