Kids are off school, the sun is shining, what can you do in Bournemouth this Easter? We’re here to help with our 5 Day itinerary.
Day 1 Morning:
Visit RockReef on Bournemouth Pier for an amazing climbing and high ropes experience. Your kids will love it and there are instructors on hand to help. There is also a cafe for you to watch from with a coffee in hand.
Day 1 Afternoon:
From RockReef you can walk or cycle along the promenade next to the beach towards Boscombe pier where you can relax and have a pizza on the sand from The Wood Oven as you watch the sunset.
Day 2:
Explore the easter trail at the Kingfisher Barn. The Easter trail takes you around the Stour Valley Nature Reserve and you can learn about the wildlife on site and their families. Afterwards, head back to the visitor centre to claim your prize. It costs £3 per trail and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
Why not make a bug home? Make a simple home for hibernating insects out of reusable and recyclable materials, including bottles, newspapers and cane. The kids will learn about the insects that may come to live in it. It costs £2 per bug house and all children must be accompanied by an adult
Day 3:
Spend the morning at the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery and Museum where they have Easter events on. Let your imagination run wild this Easter holiday with their themed trails, crafts, garden games and competitions all inspired by our exhibition The Lost Words.
In the afternoon why not take a walk up through the gardens to coy pond and visit the upside gallery on the way. How many paintings can you count? You can learn about the history of the upper gardens on our website here
Day 4:
The South Coast Makers market is currently at Bobby’s in Bournemouth town centre, come and see what treasures you can find from local independent sellers. Whilst in the town centre you can head to one of our many local cafes and get a bite to eat.
In the afternoon you can head to Alum Chine play park where your kids can burn off their energy. The playpark has a pirate theme with a sunken ship that your children can climb up and a large slide which provides endless fun. Good luck trying to get your children to leave once you want to head home!
Day 5:
Come and visit the Hengistbury Head visitor centre, where you can learn about the history and wildlife of the head. There are experts on hand to answer any questions you may have.
Take the land train for gentle and easy access to Mudeford Sand spit, then enjoy the view with a cup of tea and a slice of cake, or something more substantial in one of the cafes.
Maybe enjoy the spectacular views, earned with a little effort, from the top of Warren Hill.
Whatever your plans for the day, the friendly staff and volunteers at the Visitor Centre will help you make the most of your visit.
