If you are looking for an active day, Bournemouth and the surrounding area offer many attractions and activities for you and your group to enjoy. Our seven mile coastline offers perfect clifftop walks, shoreline strolls and flat promenades. Bournemouth Gardens offer a gentle 1½ mile walk through the Lower, Central and Upper Gardens finishing at Coy Pond.
Discover and explore as you walk along our seafront our wooded Chines leading up from the beach at Alum, Durley and Boscombe. On our doorstep we have a number of local nature reserves awaiting to be explored and a haven for local wildlife, visit Hengistbury Head to the East of Bournemouth and Stour Valley on the banks of the River Stour north of Bournemouth town centre.
Bournemouth offers the perfect cycling break with friends, family or your local cycling group any time of the year. The coastline offers perfect cycling opportunities and plenty of places to stop off at one of our coastal cafes, bars and restaurants. Our coastal roads offer stunning sea views, head westwards to Sandbanks and Poole or Eastwards towards Hengistbury Head and Christchurch.
There are plenty of walking and cycling routes to enjoy on our doorstep too. From the spectacular scenery and clifftop vistas along the Jurassic Coast to the enchanting New Forest National Park with its abundance of paths and places to explore.

Bournemouth has a number of bowling greens and one indoor facility (one of the largest greens in Europe, containing 9 rinks).
