Get into the Christmas spirit at Bournemouth’s Christmas Tree Wonderland. This year, we will be welcoming back Christmas Tree Wonderland for the 6th year running!
Expect to see dazzling decorations and twinkling trees across Bournemouth’s Town Centre, Gardens, and Pier Approach. The FREE event will start on Friday 17 November 2023 until Monday 1 January 2024, so don’t miss out!
Where to start?
The starting point would be at Bournemouth’s seafront, overlooking a beautiful winter sunset. As the dusk night draws in, it is perfect lighting to get some beautiful pictures of the trees and sunset!
Along Pier Approach, you will find some old favourites such as the big wheel and the walk-through bauble, along with a few newbies! Making your way up through the gardens, you will be amazed to see the trail continue. With the biggest tree measuring an impressive 60ft, what’s better, is that you are able to walk through it and enjoy its different sensory aspects.
What is new for 2023?
As time has passed, Christmas Tree Wonderland has wanted to WOW visitors every year, and this year has been no exception. New additions include projections from lampposts around the Gardens, a lantern archway, flashing light stems, and a new walk-through Christmas present. Not to mention a new 16-metre light tunnel and the Santa Express train in the Lower Gardens!

Take yourself ice-skating at Cool Coast Ice Rink, the indoor ice rink at the BIC, to start getting in the festive spirit. Whether you are a novice or an expert, Cool Coast Ice Rink will be able to give you a magical feeling this Christmastime whatever the weather.
Get your shop on and have a glance through Bournemouth’s Christmas market. Indulge in festive sweet treats and snacks to go, you could peek in the Alpine bar and join in on their Monday quiz-mas, karaoke Tuesdays or enjoy the live music on Sundays. There's fun for all the family with festive cookie decorating and craft classes and complimentary face painting too!
Festive travel
With great links to motorways, public transport and its own airport – getting to Bournemouth’s Christmas Tree Wonderland couldn’t be easier! South Western Railway operate directly from London to Bournemouth in less than 2hours, you can travel easily from Southampton and Weymouth, tickets can be booked in advance.
