Summer has well and truly begun in Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole, as BBQ season is finally here! Enjoy our beautiful beaches whilst the sun is beaming down; there is nothing better than the smell of a sizzling BBQ with the best company of friends and family.
Where to BBQ…
Across our destinations, we have installed electric BBQ stations to encourage people to create less waste and become more environmentally conscious. You can find these BBQs in four locations: Branksome Chine, Bournemouth (to the east of Bournemouth Pier just before Harry Ramsden's), Boscombe (to the east of Boscombe Pier, opposite Urban Reef), and Fisherman’s Walk (between Boscombe and Southbourne).
If you are planning to use one of our electric BBQs, check out the guidelines and instructions on how to use them here.
If you are wanting to fire up your own disposable BBQ, then make sure it is between the times of 6pm and 10:30pm, for the safety of other beach visitors.
What to bring…
Now you may be thinking, I need to get some tasty food, but what else? Here are five essentials for the best beach BBQ!
-
What is a beach BBQ without a BBQ? If you are using a disposable coal BBQ, then be sure to bring one with you. If not, then why not use one of our electric BBQs!
-
Bring something comfortable to sit on; a beach towel, picnic blanket, or if you have enough room in the boot, some deck chairs.
-
BBQ utensils, reusable plates, napkins, and cutlery. These items are easily forgotten but are an essential part of any BBQ.
-
Bring some fun beach games along with you to keep your group entertained after all the tasty BBQ food has been gobbled up. This could be anything from a pack of playing cards, to a football to kick around.
-
You have brought all the food, but what about the drinks? Make sure you have plenty of beverages to keep you hydrated - you could even bring a cool box to keep everything nice and chilled.
