Keeping the Smugglers Golf Course in Ship Shape

Half term is nearly upon us and it’s so strange having the course closed at this time of year. It’s been really quiet without you, but we hope all our mini golfers are safe and at home. As you would expect, we’ve been keeping the course in ship shape and planning ahead until we can welcome you back to the course.

What an interesting year 2020 has been! Us Smugglers have had to adapt to the strange new world very quickly and our gang are so proud of what we have achieved. We have made sure to have put all COVID-19 precautions in place for the safety and comfort of our visitors. This includes, controlling the number of players we have on the course and the space between each gang, making sure all balls and putters are disinfected after every use, and minimising contact to help stop the spread of COVID-19. We feel extremely lucky to have been able to offer some safe family fun in these uncertain times.

During lockdown us Smugglers have not been able to trade our contraband and the Smugglers Cove Golf Course has been empty of even the Kings Men! We have been keeping busy though. Making sure the course is in ship shape for our soon to be visitors (hopefully!) Our whole course is being refreshed with the rocks being filled and painted, new grass being laid in places, gardening and the kiosk has had a revamp inside making sure we have plenty of space for the contraband.

Looking back over what was a tough and difficult year, we have had a lot of joy and laughter with our visitors. I have fond memories of children extra excited to be having some fun with us after the first lockdown. In October we had a ‘Name the Smuggler Competition’ and the response was absolutely fantastic! This year Smugglers Cove Adventure Golf has won silver for the Large Visitor Attraction Of The Year category at the 2020 Dorset Tourism Awards! We look forward to welcoming everyone back as soon as we can!
