About Us
A powerful blend of contemporary dance, theatre, and spoken word. Sunny Side is a bold exploration of mental health, identity, and belonging in today's world. Created by nationally acclaimed Yorkshire-based company Northern Rascals, this poignant performance offers an intimate look at the struggles faced by young people in small Northern towns.
The Story
Sunny Side follows K, a 19-year-old from a rain-soaked Yorkshire Valley, as he grapples with his mental health and sense of place. Feeling disconnected and overwhelmed, K revisits pivotal moments from his life in a desperate search for meaning. Performed by three dancers, this 85-minute show dives into themes of identity, the pressures of modern life, and the unseen struggles of young men navigating a world that feels like it has no space for them.
