Enjoy our December Ceilidh with a festive twist! Bow & Box is a folk duo from the South Coast providing unique ceilidh experiences, rousing concerts and a sensitive background accompaniment.
Taking inspiration from great folk bands such as Leveret, Bow & Box focus on their unspoken connection and musicianship to craft sensational music together. Their intoxicating melodies and powerful rhythms make your foot tap uncontrollably. Even as a duo they create a sound as complex and intricate with a presence that you'd expect from a larger band.
About Ceilidhs
Similar to a barn dance, a Ceilidh (pronounced Kaylee) is a social folk dance style in which the caller leads you through each dance's patterns. There is no partner or experience necessary for these enjoyable social evenings hosted in our Ocean Theatre. Welcome to both first-time Ceilidh attendees and seasoned ones! Book in early to guarantee your spot; these events tend to sell out.
About Bow and Box
With Chris Nichols on fiddle and viola, and Matt Smee on diatonic accordions, the duo formed after a chance meeting while busking on Eastleigh high street. Their musical chemistry was immediate, igniting their passion to create the unforgettable sounds of Bow & Box.
