Art Exhibition - Anna's Art Group

Mixed Media: Watercolours, Oils, Acrylics, Collage, Pastels.

Renowned Millhams Street artist, Anna Sims, runs a series of highly successful art classes at her 100 year old cottage in Christchurch.  The Art Group will be coming together with Anna to present another combined exhibition at the town’s Regent Centre.   The exhibition runs from Saturday 29 September – Friday 19 October.

Anna’s pupils will each be submitting a few pieces of their work for the exhibition.  The work will be in mixed media of pastels, watercolours, oils, acrylics, collage and pencil drawings.  The subjects will range from local land and seascapes to still life and portraits. 

The exhibition will also feature some of Anna’s own paintings.  Last year, Anna had the accolade of having some of her work accepted by the Royal Academy for the third time. She has also exhibited at the Mall Galleries with the Royal Institute of Watercolourists.  In the 2003 Not the Turner Prize, one of her works was one of only 400 entries to be selected from the initial 15,000 entries in the competition.  One of Anna’s recent paintings has been featured in the American publication, International Artists Magazine.  She also has works hanging in many private collections both at home and overseas in the USA, Japan and Australia
