You are here: What's On > What's On Monthly > May
May is national bike month which includes Bike to work week and Bike to School Week. There are plenty of routes to cycle around in Christchurch to see all of the sights. The promenade from Hengistbury Head to Sandbanks is still available for cyclists to use in the month of May.
May 18 - 19 also sees the return of the popular Cheese and Chilli Festival which celebrates both Chilli and Cheese! You can visit local independent traders at the festival, and you can try their different cheeses or chilli sauces. There is always a great atmosphere at the festival which is perfect for all the family. You can also watch live demonstrations and there are shows for the kids also.
If you want to try something new on the water this May, you can visit Shoresports at Mudeford Quay. There you can try out Kayaking, Raft Building, Wind sailing and many more. Whilst at Mudeford quay, you can buy crabbing equipment at the quay and have a go at catching some crabs at the quay. Make sure to release them safely afterwards too.
May is National Share-a-Story month, so when you discover something new in Christchurch this April, be sure to share it on social media for all to see! Tag @lovexchurch and use #lovechristchurch.
