Located in the heart of Poole, just a short journey from Bournemouth, Lighthouse welcomes thousands of visitors each year to experience a broad range of live events. The largest regional arts centre in the UK and home to the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. Lighthouse holds a symphonic concert hall, mid-scale theatre, small-scale studio theatre, independent cinema, art galleries and function rooms our audiences can discover and enjoy an extraordinary mix of art forms all under one roof.
Lighthouse boasts a year round programme of national and international events including dance, music, drama, comedy, film, visual arts, workshops and family theatre.
Located immediately opposite Poole bus station, a 5 minute walk from the train station and close to plenty of car parks, the centre is ideally situated for visitors. Frequent buses run between Bournemouth and Poole. Search morebus on this site for timetable information.
To make your visit to Lighthouse as easy as possible we have designated setting down and collection bays at the front of the building for disabled customers and there is level access to the foyers, bars, café, toilets, performance spaces and all floors. There are sound enhancement systems that can be used in the concert hall, cinema, studio and theatre and our performances often have audio description and captioning – please see our website for details.
