Christchurch is steeped in history; it’s little wonder that its castles, museums and churches, and the beautiful Christchurch priory, draw visitors from far and wide. From hiking in the forest, to discovering local wildlife at the numerous natures reserves in the area or ambling along the quayside and Christchurch’s beautiful beaches, you’ll find your own pace here in Christchurch. With the sea on one side, forest on the other and two rivers either side there is no shortage of outdoor activities available. From golf courses, leisure centres, tennis courts, bowling greens and a variety of watersports to hand there’s something for everyone. Scattered among the town and all within walking distance of the centre are a range of shops, a weekly market, coffee shops, restaurants, wine bars, traditional pubs and the Regent Centre, an Art Deco cinema and theatre providing entertainment to suit all.
Christchurch offers a busy calendar of festivals and events throughout the year including food, arts, heritage, dance & performance and local fetes, fairs and craft events. We would advise you to check directly with the relevant venue/business for the most up to date information.
Our beautiful coastline offers a variety of great accommodation choices from beachfront hotels, national chains and family run guest accommodation to independent hotels, B&Bs and self-catering. Visit our group accommodation pages for hotels in the area and also our Christchurch pages for other options.
Pop in and say hello!
