About Us

Venture is an independent gift shop that has a wide range of beautiful goods, cards, wall art, jewellery and beautiful creations all from regional makers and creators. Everything stocked in store is made by regional small businesses, crafters, creatives and enterprise. The shop itself forms part of the Linwood School CHI training programme that helps young people aged 16-19 with additional needs to gain workplace skills in a supported environment & move towards gainful employment. Venture works by offering local makers a shop to sell their work which in turn provides our students with a space to gain confidence and customer service experience in a supported setting. Customers at Venture are not only supporting the local economy but also providing our students with a retail training opportunity. Pop in for a browse or to find a beautiful, locally made gift!
Open Monday to Friday every term time week and also Saturdays through November and up to Christmas. School holiday opening times are variable - please call for more info.
