Local insurer hopes to raise the roof for Russell-Cotes
- NFU Mutual names Russell-Cotes Museum and Gallery as its nominated charity
- Insurer’s Community Giving Fund starts the ball rolling with £250 donation
- Three year partnership will raise money for conservatory restoration
As part of its commitment to the local community, NFU Mutual’s office in Bournemouth has adopted the Russell Cotes Art Gallery & Museum as its nominated charity for the next three years.
After visiting the museum with her business partner, Kaye Crouch, in 2014, Lorrayne Blomfield, Agent at the insurer’s office in Westbourne wanted to help restore this national treasure to its former glory and will be spearheading a three year fundraising campaign to raise much needed cash:
“Russell Cotes is a piece of living history and the conservatory is as much a piece of art as the collections housed within the museum and gallery,” Lorrayne explains. “Over the next three years, we will be organising fundraising events and rattling charity buckets so that the conservatory can be repaired and the staff don’t have to run around with buckets every time there is a downpour.”
To start the ball rolling, NFU Mutual’s community giving fund has donated £250 towards the appeal and the campaign hopes to raise £132,000 in total. Anyone interested in donating to the appeal can text LOVE VIEW to 70660 to donate £5 or call 01202 451858 to donate by card.
